Following the AGM and the decisions to change our structure subtly to involve more members in assisting with the events we run annually, we are giving an AHOY to any members who might like to join one of the Event Crew(s)or be an Event Captain or First Mate and Crew- No Press Gang on our jetty😊 

This is your opportunity to influence how our Events move forward into the future and to be part of a wider Crew that delivers our on water and social activities which are the lifeblood of our Lake Rotoiti Classic and Wooden Boat Association.

If you’ve never participated in event organisation, there are old-salts that will show you the ropes, a few charts to assist,  so you won’t be left stranded up the creek without a paddle. 

This is all about working together, supporting each other and spreading the load so we can all enjoy Fair Weather for our boating activities. 

So please seriously consider what you can do for the LRCWBA by volunteering your time to make our events easy sailing. 

We look forward to working with you all to deliver some extended events this coming season.  The events survey results were clear!

There will now be 3 main events for the next year and to make that happen we need some Captains and Crew for each event! 

This may be further split to each day’s events, so you are only helping with the parts you are most interested in.

1.SPRING INTO THE CLASSIC BOATING SEASON

November 22nd 2025 Saturday Hot Pools and BBQ

2.  NEW YEAR HOLIDAY FUN

a       Jan 2nd 2026 Friday Progressive Long Lazy Lunch (with supplied Hamper) and Poker Run including Fast Boat and more sedate courses
b      Jan 3rd Saturday or 4th Sunday Dingy day and Seagull motor and rowing races  

3. FESTIVAL OF CLASSIC BOATING – Waitangi Weekend

a     Feb 5th Thursday potentially incorporating a static display on the Rotorua Village Green in the evening 
b    Feb 6th Friday A Fast Classic &/or Retro Day, Parade briefing & Dinner   
c    Feb 7th Saturday CLASSIC AND WOODEN BOAT PARADE
d    Feb 8th Sunday  Channel Drift & Wooden/Fast/Retro Boat events
