SATURDAY 30th MARCH, 2024 - EASTER WEEKEND
Calling all boat owners for a unique and enchanting experience! It's your chance to transform your boats into floating works of art by decorating and illuminating them for a mesmerizing nighttime parade that will be a treat for all lake residents.
During the parade, we maintain safety as our top priority with a 'follow the leader' approach and a designated 'tail-end-charlie' to ensure a smooth and secure event for everyone involved.
You don't need to go overboard with elaborate lighting displays; anything that shines and sparkles will look fantastic from the shore, and the more boats, the more awe-inspiring the spectacle! You can simply adorn your vessel with your Christmas lights or purchase a couple of strings of battery-powered LED lights for a dazzling effect.
One small piece of advice: it's a good idea to avoid placing lights in front of the skipper unless you can shield them from their view, as they may obstruct visibility from that position.
Before we set off on our illuminated journey, there will be a 'Bring Your Own' (BYO) picnic dinner for all participants to enjoy.
The best part is that this event welcomes all boats, including plastic ones! So, whether you're a lighting wizard or a novice, there's a place for you in this enchanting boat parade.
Join us for a magical evening on the water and be a part of this captivating spectacle. We can't wait to see your creative boat decorations light up the night!
Please contact the Secretary Rachel Jamieson to register your interest.
