OHAU CHANNEL DRIFT

SUNDAY 4 FEBRUARY, 2018

Join us for a leisurely drift down the Ohau Channel, between Lake Rotorua and Lake Rotoiti.

12:30pm - Meet at the end of Waana Street in Mourea to unload your chosen floating device - dinghy, kayak, stand-up paddle board, boogie board, rubber ring - anything goes!

1pm -
Drive vehicles to desired end point. This can be the delta launching ramp, or Fraser Wilson's house (next to the reserve where the Wooden Boat Parade starts). BYO drinks and afternoon tea will be held at Fraser's at the conclusion of the float. Participants are welcome to drop chilly bins and gear off prior to the start.

Participants will then be ferried back to the start to begin the drift.

Please let Rachel Jamieson know ahead of time if you are planning to join the drift, to ensure that there is enough transport for everyone.

Local members have a few spare kayaks etc. if you're keen to come along but don't have anything to float on - please just ask.

All club members are welcome to attend the BYO afternoon tea and drinks at Fraser's afterwards.

NOTE: In the event that the Wooden Boat Parade is postponed until Sunday 4 February, the Ohau Channel Drift will also be postponed until Monday 5 February.
