6th February 2010 - The 13th annual Lake Rotoiti Classic & Wooden Boat parade tradition of fine weather continued with the spectacle of around seventy five official entrant boats parading on Lake Rotoiti and a very large flotilla of spectator craft making this day probably the biggest gathering of boats on Lake Rotoiti ever.
As usual, following the Karakia and blessing, three blasts of a black powder canon and then the flotilla was led out from the Okere Arm by the magnificent Waka "Tieke" and " Te Auheke" towards Okawa Bay.
The flotilla then proceeded across the lake to the recently cleared picnic spot at Wairau Bay where a beach picnic was enjoyed by all participants. Tug-O-war and egg throwing games were hotly contested by the various crews.

The Light Parade was held on Easter Sunday 04-04-10 with a great turnout on a very dark night.
A huge amount of effort had been put into the displays and once again the Arapawa crew's effort was outstanding.

The poker rally and beach BBQ was held on January 2nd 2010. As usual luck was on our side with the weather and a great afternoon of fun with a BBQ and final hands on the newly cleared area at Wairau Bay.
The winning hands were dominated by Rachel and her crew from "Arapawa" and the Prior Family crew off "Patch"
The red hand, "Arapawa"- first, "Patch" and "Elva" = second.
The blue hand, "Patch" - first, "Arapawa" - second.

The Dinghy day scheduled for 31st January 2010 was cancelled due to bad weather.

Composting Toilets at Te Arero Bay and Cherry Bay. Our committee were successful with an application for available funding from EBOP and proceeded to organise and help with the building of these new toilets for the use of all lake users. Our thanks go to the owners of the land that these toilets are built on.

Composting Toilets at Picnic Point. As a result of the support that has been received from both entrants and sponsors from previous Parades, a small financial surplus has been achieved. This has enabled a contribution to the Department of Conservation to help them build a composting toilet at Picnic Point for the use of all lake users.

Picnic Tables.  Wooden picnic tables have been constructed over the last few years and placed at various locations around the lake. There is now one table at Honeymoon Bay, two at Picnic Point, and three plus a repaired table at Cherry Bay for the use of all lake users. Our thanks to Mr. Neville Mackey for his effort in constructing these tables and we trust you will make good use of them over the holiday season.

Lake Rotoiti Improvements.  We are keen to continue spending any surplus from future Parades on facilities or improvements around the lake for your benefit. With the table project now effectively completed, we would appreciate any thoughts or suggestions regarding other initiatives we can undertake.

The Committee would like to thank  the following sponsors:
