9th February 2013 - The 16th annual Lake Rotoiti Classic & Wooden Boat parade tradition of fine weather continued with the spectacle of around seventy five official entrant boats parading on Lake Rotoiti and a very large flotilla of spectator craft making this day probably the biggest gathering of boats on Lake Rotoiti ever.
As usual, following the Karakia and blessing, the flotilla was led out from the Okere Arm by the magnificent Waka "Tieke" and " Te Auheke" towards Okawa Bay.
The flotilla then split into three with the slow boats and yachts proceeding straight to Wairau Bay, the launches to Wairau Bay via Okawa Bay and the speedboats to Otaramarae and back to Wairau Bay where a beach picnic was enjoyed by all participants.
