"Solent" is a classic kauri launch currently residing at Lake Rotoiti in the North Island. Solent is 22 Ft 6 inches long and is powered by a 3 cylinder Lister Petter diesel engine with very low hours. She has classic lines and was built around 1960 by "McMillan" a well known Northland boat builder. This boat has had a major refit at the end of 2009 and consequently is in very good condition both hull and topsides.  This is a reliable family boat for either the lake or the sea and is incredibly fuel efficient.  She comes with anchors, a solar panel to operate ventilation fans and a new cover.  There are wooden fittings throughout and blue vinyl squabs in her generous cabin.

'Mandalay' was built in Auckland, but put into dry storage during WW2, where she stayed until 1986.
She was then purchased and restored by Dave Jackson at Northcote and recommissioned by ex dockyard shipwright Jeff Cook.
'Mandalay' is a charming and much admired traditional craft in excellent condition, currently on the marina at Tokaanu on Lake Taupo.

Construction:  'Mandalay' is built with full length planks, edge fitted and riveted to ribs without caulking. Glass over ply decks.
4 berths. Under 2 litres per hour cruising at 6 knots.

Engine:   Yanmar 3 cylinder diesel situated towards the front under the forward double berth.
This leaves the interior cabin area & settee berths open & uncluttered.

Trailer:  A unique feature with 'Mandalay' is a purpose built galvanised single axle road trailer with extending draw bar for launching & retrieval.
Trailer is registered.

Interior squabs are in good condition with new cockpit squabs last season. Cockpit/dodger has removable covers for
day sailing and an additional waterproof cover. New anchor warp & chain, danforth & CQR style anchor.

'Mandalay' is an ideal lake or coastal vessel and having a purpose build trailer makes her quite unique.

$22,000 (or near offer) for 'Mandalay' complete with trailer.
