Good Friday Easter 2006 inaugural Poker Rally

The inaugural Poker Rally was held over Easter weekend. The event started at 2pm in the Okere Arm.
A poker rally has a fleet of boats cruising to 5 selected spots on the lake. Each boat collects a card from a standard pack at each stop. At the last stop the best poker hand gets the prize.
One joker was included and the crew drawing that card was the winner of an instant prize.
The rally was a great success with 10 boats participating in beautiful weather. This initial rally was limited in numbers to test whether the event will become an annual fixture on the Associations calendar which now appears likely.
Rotoiti, with its many beautiful bays and beaches really suits this type of boating function. A great day concluded with a beach BBQ at the last stop.
Well done to all who participated and watch out for next year.
